Summer Wedding Featured in An Essex Wedding Magazine

Delighted to have a wedding I worked on in 2014 featured in An Essex Wedding Magazine this month.

Eleanor is a stunning looking girl and wanted to have a bit of hollywood glam to go with the beautiful Maggie Sottero dress for her wedding at Great Leighs, following by  reception at Maiden's Barn.

Although her theme was "Country Chic" she wanted to inject some glamour as a lover of "bling".
We went for large waves in her hair pinned on one side and make up was a typical 50's matt look eye using neutrals with a winged eyeliner, topped off with lashes and a russet red on the lips.

Bridal Make-Up and Hair

A very busy weekend in the studio styling and practising some beautiful looks for up coming brides.
The boho style for hair is still very popular with lots of beautiful soft waves, braiding and loose up-do's.

Make up for my recent brides has also been more soft, natural and beautiful and #Airbase #Airbrushing is now becoming more and more popular with brides wanting it for their big day.

Of course, there is always going to be those brides who want a bit more of a bold statement for their big day.......and I'm always happy to oblige.

New Year's Eve Wedding

My last wedding of 2014 was for the lovely Nikke who was married at De Rougemont Manor on New Year's Eve!

I arrived at 8.45 to style her 3 bridesmaids as well as her mum and obviously Nikke herself.  Nikke wanted a statement up do and I have created a little collage of step by step photographs so to give you an idea of how the style was created........just beautiful which went perfectly with her amazing vintage style dress.

Nikke wanted all of the girls to have a half up/down style although each had an little something different from the other.

                         

Mum went for a classic french pleat, complimented by a black feather fascinator.

Your style needs to remain in place all day/evening and your stylist will have all of the best products and techniques to make sure that this happens.

I provide both hair and make up together which gives you a complete picture and I also make bespoke hair extensions if you want a style that your own natural hair doesn't quite do.  They will also be able to help you with hair jewellery and veil placement.

Before you book a stylist do lots of research and its always good to get a recommendation. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions......qualifications, insurance, experience, products etc.  Any good hair and make up artist will have a good portfolio of work and be happy to have a free consultation with you before trial.

"How To"

Now that the absolutely amazingly busy 2014 seems to be slowing (a little)!!!!!  I want to share some "how to's" with you gorgeous ladies.  I often get asked about applying lashes, choosing the correct foundation or how to create big hair.  So..... if there is anything you would like me to feature or something you are struggling with and would like some help with, please leave a comment below.

This was a beautiful style created earlier this year for a bride who married at Leez Priory. Bridesmaids all had a soft boho style to compliment.

Oh my, where as 2012 gone????  Its been a pretty exciting time over the last few weeks awaiting the regional results of the 2013 Wedding Industry Awards and I was super excited to be nominated by one of my March 2012 brides and then even more super excited to be short-listed for the second year running in the Make Up Artist category.  So many of my brides voted and a huge, huge thank you for taking the time ladies for voting for me.  Sadly, I didn't make the final, but was really elated to read some of the comments left by my brides, which were absolutely lovely!

Photoshoot at Greenwoods Stock

A bit of a dreary start to the day with the weather, but soon perked up when I arrived at Greenwoods in Stock for a photo shoot organised by Karen Borden from the Flower Mill, when I smelt the cinnamon and fresh coffee as I walked through to the library which was where we were getting all of our models ready for the day.

Our first model was the lovely Georgie Anne Onyett, who was modelling dresses from The Wedding Trousseau in Epping. My brief was to produce a sweet and innocent look which I think Tracy Williams captured perfectly. View more of Tracy's work at http://www.twsp.co.uk/

The beautiful bouquet of the most amazing smelling Lily of the Valley was created by Karen from The Flower Mill and the vintage hairpiece and earrings were created by Julia Beazley

I then moved on to hair and make up for the lovely Katie Harris one of the models for multi award winning Curvy Couture Bridal.  Curvy are the premier boutique in Essex exclusively dedicated to curvy plus size prides, uniquely offering the very best in plus size bridal gowns specially designed for the fuller figure.

Kate's first dress was a lace calf length dress which suited her perfectly so to go with this we piled her hair into a sleek bun with a side swept fringe, winged eyeliner and bright coral lips.........

The second dress was a full length pale pink romantic style with crystal detailing.......beautiful!

Kate was followed by Natasha in two of the most amazing coloured dresses so something more dramatic hair and make up wise was called for...............

A tiring but fun filled day as Tracy Williams is a most amazingly fun and creative photographer and you never know what she is going to ask the girls to do next..............and I am still waiting to see the sliding down the bannister shot!!!!!

2013 Wedding Industry Awards !!!

I have been nominated in the Make Up Artist category for this years 2013 Wedding Industry Awards!  (Just a little excited!!!)  I was so over the moon to be regionally short-listed last year, and to be nominated again is   just brilliant.

These are the only independent, national wedding industry awards. They are voted for solely by past-clients of the wedding suppliers who have entered. This, together with our rigorous judging process and expert judging panel ensures that the results of these awards have real meaning for entrants and anyone who is organising a wedding and looking for the best wedding suppliers.

Moulin Rouge - Photo Shoot at Prested Hall

This is the second shoot for The Essex Wedding Collection!  Photographed by 3 different photographers showing 3 completely different styles......Faith Stone Photography, Tracy Williams Studio Photography and Rachael Pereira.

I was working alongside Tina Crossley from Beautiful Hair and Lisa Alger from Essex Wedding Beauty to turn 3 lovely ladies into our interpretation of "Moulin Rouge".

September 2012 - Photo Shoots

I cannot believe how busy this year has been!  Its been fabulous, so many gorgeous brides, bridesmaids, mums and those just wanting to look fabulous for a special occasion.  Bookings are now coming in thick and fast for next year and it seems that this will be equally as busy.........romance is definitely alive and kicking!

I have had the most amazing year so far!  I have made some amazing new friends along the way and met some great people within the bridal industry all as equally passionate as I am about providing a great service.

September so far...............A Rock the Frock shoot with the fabulous Tracy Williams Studio Photography; this was a Gothic themed shoot for a recently married bride who wanted to wear her dress again and go for a completely different look!  We certainly achieved this and she was over the moon with the images that Tracy came up with.

A promotion for a Diner in Harold Hill resulted in a 50's styled shoot in the diner itself, again photographed by Tracy and working alongside fellow make up and hair artist, Lisa Alger and the original dresses being supplied and styled by Normal Jean Vintage and Vintage Inspired Clothing.

Next was a fantastic day spent at Prested Hall for a Supplier Photoshoot for members of The Essex Wedding Collection where I worked with some great suppliers all coming together to produce some gorgeous images and promotional material.........images to follow soon.

As my wedding work has completely taken over my life, I will now only be carrying out selected beauty treatments due to the time constraint.  So those lovely ladies wanting lash extensions and eye treatments will still be able to book with me, but all other treatments I will be passing over to a colleague...........Dawn x
